Nutmeg whole

Nutmeg is a spice which is come from the seeds of the nutmeg tree. The aroma is very beautiful, strong and shrill with sweet flavor. After harvest of nutmeg fruit, the seeds are removed and are dried in the sun for about 1.5 month. The nutmeg is round, they have grayish and brown color and their surface is wrinkled. World production is around 10.000 to 12.000 tons per year. Nutmeg is used in pastry, in bakeries, cooking because nutmeg add flavor in sausages, meat, in sauces and liqueurs. Additionally, it belongs to the spices but it has antimicrobial, antiseptic and antioxidant action. According a laboratory experiment in Sinhagad College of Pharmacy demonstrated that nutmeg has potent antioxidant and anti-bacteria activity in the stomach.
